Have you seen http://econym.org.uk/gmap/geomulti.htm The limit is now 2500 per day, so 4000 would take around 38 hours. If you have an XML file already, Mike's example can be altered so you get the XML file and work through that rather than a hard-coded array. Write out the new XML to the screen, as his example, and then copy it into a new file. Javascript can't create files. Or use a server-side script and the HTTP geocoder.
