POST is not available. What you could do is construct a number of
slices of your intended static map, each with its portion of the
route, and then display them alongside each other so they look like a
single image. NOTE: It's against the rules to stitch them together;
but you can keep them separate and just display them together.

The difficulty with that method is you have to work out where the
centre of each image "slice" is so the edges match. There have been a
number of threads about that, and I believe bratliff came up with some
maths, so that may help narrow down your search.
