if I believed that I would actually understand what I was looking at,
I'd definitely try doing this - I thought you would have figured out
by now that nothing is too dumb for this amateur to try.

Thanks for going through my code so thoroughly. I had noticed that
"push" there, and wasn't quite sure what it was doing there in the
first place...

Thanks also for pointing out the uselessness of my
createClickablePolygon() function... I have no idea why I wanted to do
that either - I guess the problem with copying code from all over the
place without really understanding it is that sometimes you end up
with a little extra baggage.

But as to the issue at hand, I think I took the easy way out, against
Andrew's advice, and created a handleSelected2 function. It may not be
pretty, but it works, which is looking a lot like my trademark as a
coder.
