This is difficult to arrange. A square map on-screen does not represent a square chunk of land due to dostortion of Mercator's projection. Likewise, a true circle on the ground woud appear egg- shaped to a degree on screen. So some approximation may be needed ; how much depends where in the world you are looking and the degree of zoom. You may need to make some choices between what looks right and what acts accurately. Next issue is that the maps come in discrete integer zoom levels. You can't arbritarily make ten miles fit a given box on screen. You can find an approximate span for a given map and base asearch on that. > Also, how do you put a > feet/miles scale on the map?
