It's perfectly possible. You are already using the coordinates for a
marker. Just do something else with them.

However, if you are using Google's services, you MUST display the
results on a map. The only exception is the Directions service, where
you can dispense with the map if you show the directions panel.

So while it's technically possible to do what you want, you may not.
