Hello xelawho! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
FYI, I'm not able to reproduce that z-index issue that you've mentioned in IE7. I actually used the same z-index settings that I had used to make sure the menu "popped" over the Google Maps tool to begin with, and everything came back with a clean bill of health when I ran it through all of my validation checks and ??? I believe you though (that you're experiencing some z-index issues), so I'm curious to get to the bottom of that issue. Also, FYI, I still haven't really seen where to remove "commas" (semi- colons?) from that bit of .js code we've been focusing on. If Andrew or ??? wants to get back to me/us to give me a bit better idea of what specific recommendations he is making, maybe I/we can get to the bottom of that IE7 issue as well.
