As Barry suggests, what happens at the end of the deprecation period is yet 
to be completely defined. Less than 3 years have passed since the 3 year 
deprecation policy was introduced across all 'graduated' APIs at Google, so 
there is no precedent yet.

I think it's safe to assume however that we're not going to just throw the 
off switch if there are still a lot of active v2 sites. However at a minimum 
we will stop offering support and SLA coverage to Enterprise customers, and 
we will no longer be obliged to fix any new bugs that arise, or test and 
certify any new browsers that are launched. We may also more aggressively 
encourage migration to v3, such as by adding a warning message to v2 sites, 
or gradually winding down quotas and rate limits.
