Summary of the problem: I am trying to build a 'before and after' image revealer using the Jquery draggable extension, similar to this http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/christchurch-earthquake/4705106/Photos-Before-and-after-the-Christchurch-earthquake but a smaller version that will fit nicely inside a Google Maps infowindow. I have it almost working and it's looking great, the only problem is the draggable component does not seem to work/drag when placed inside an infowindow. The strange thing is, if I click and hold the draggable component and move the cursor outside the infowindow, it drags perfectly, but the moment you move the cursor back inside the infowindow it stops again, almost like the infowindow container is blocking the drag functionality.
What I have tried: I have tried using different JS infowindow settings, altering the CSS, applying different z-index values but have had no luck. The only way I have got it to work so far is by placing the draggable images inside an iframe, inside the infowindow. This works, but it's not the most ideal solution to the problem. Research: I have come across threads where other people have suffered from a similar problem: http://groups.google.com/group/google-maps-api/browse_thread/thread/34d870caddeb537f/3f32607badf9bb1d http://groups.google.com/group/google-maps-api/browse_thread/thread/fecfbd5596351108# According to these discussions it would seem this bug occurs in API versions higher than 2.177. But im guessing Google never fixed the bug? In short: The Jquery draggable components seems to get blocked when placed inside an infowindow, according to my research it only occurs in API versions later than 2.177. Has anyone else come across this problem? If so, did you manage to fix it? and how? Any help appreciated!
