We are evaluating the usage of the static maps api since quite a while. One 
of the main problems we still have is that our local data is using a 
different non-mercator projection (Typically gauss-krueger for germany). I 
have seen now, that using the java script api it is possible to show various 
projections with google maps. A nice sample of such projections is shown 
here:

Question: is it possible to download MAP-Tiles in different projections 
using the static API? I have not found such a possibility in the 
documentation.
