Hopefully not, or the "enhanced security" wouldn't be worth the title
if it could be bypassed by external design.

There is lots of stuff on the web about it, often including phrases
like "makes IE literally useless".  It certainly won't be just map
pages that are affected, although of course the users might not be
looking (allowed to look at) many other external webpages.

It's not going to be a problem for your real public users, I believe
it only affects corporate users stuck with use through a Windows
server.
