Does your map use the "stable" version?

The usual issue with "holes" in polygons not working is if the winding
direction is wrong, that didn't use to matter in v2, perhaps now it
does.  Or is your problem with opacity, not "holes"?

To get useful advice, not guesses, please provide a link to your map
(or a map) that exhibits the problem.
