Hullo,
I am trying to extract the path from one coordinate to another using the
google service in order to have the path only pass through road.
Yet I found a problem at least in a case when a very long a suspicious
encoded point comes out that, when decoded, produces very weird results
like the following:

41.91548|12.47415
41.91658|12.47375
41.91643|12.47383
1942.57042|12.47382
1942.57041|12.47381
1942.5704|12.4738
1942.57025|12.47388
5561.0596|12.47387
5561.05959|12.47386
5561.05958|12.47385
5561.05943|-1775.79878
5561.05942|-1775.79879

....

where only the first three in this list are right and the following obviously
wrong.

An example url that produces this result is:

http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/directions/xml?origin=41.915489,12.474191&destination=41.9121890000000,12.4755860000000&sensor=false

where you may see the latest point is excedenly long respect to the previous
ones and when decoded produces those weird values.

What may be the issue? Do I need to add other parameters to have a better
result, or what?

Thanks,

Fabrizio Bartolomucci
