>From https://developers.google.com/maps/terms#section_4_4:

"Google will announce if it intends to discontinue or make backwards
incompatible changes to this API or Service. Google will use commercially
reasonable efforts to continue to operate those Google Maps API versions
and features identified at
http://developers.google.com/maps/maps-api-list<https://developers.google.com/maps/maps-api-list>without
these changes until the later of: (i) one year after the
announcement or (ii) April 20, 2015, unless (as Google determines in its
reasonable good faith judgment):

   - equired by law or third party relationship (including if there is a
change in applicable law or relationship), or
   - doing so could create a security risk or substantial economic or
   material technical burden.

The above policy is the "Deprecation Policy.""

We interpreted this to mean v2 would be supported at least until April
2015. we have not been to the v2 developers page for awhile to see the
shutdown message. we also did not even get an email about it (even though
we are registered) until this week.

it makes me nervous about devoting a lot of effort with V3 API. will V4
also not be backward compatible?
