DirectionsRenderer draws the start and finish markers, but doesn't
connect them with a route (polyline). Text directions are displayed.

dirDisplay = new google.maps.DirectionsRenderer();

dirDisplay.setPanel(document.getElementById('gmaps-dirs'));
