Google don't reveal much* about upcoming plans, but would go as far as
to say 'not soon'. Integrating the Earth API with all the features
available in the Maps API takes time - and even in v2 its not totally
integrated.

However you dont need the integration added to the Maps API, just
implement what you need yourself:
