GLayer uses it to change the cursor & to present tool tips. I used it
in an obsolete "PolyBuilder" demo for rollovers on a naked map. Bill
Chadwick has a very cool "elevation" demo which requires "mousemove".
The issue has about forty stars.

If you do not declare an event listener for "mousemove" you ought to
see no impact. The event itself is not excessive. Generating LatLng
objects for each event is excessive. Passing individual Lat / Lon
arguments directly on the stack is another option.

Thanks Ben for a welcome addition to the API
