looks like it might be a fault with the Google Maps API, which expects
the copyrights message to be defined.

As a workaround you could insert the following code:
>  if (status == google.maps.DirectionsStatus.OK) {
>
      if (!response.routes[0].copyrights) {
        response.routes[0].copyrights = "Copyrights unknown.";
      }
>
>   directionsDisplay.setDirections(response);
> }
