It's not implemented yet like so many other well known features of v2. (I can think for instance of hierarchicalMapTypeControl, overview map, maximization of info windows, info windows with tabs, the possibilities of GLayer, just to name a few). It will remain an eternal secret why Google declared a high developed product as deprecated and replaced it with a low developed product at its early beta stage.
