I am replying to my own post to add in some more info. I know there is the store locator option where distances can be calculated and multiple items displayed on a googlemap but that still relies on the tourist locations or other point of interests being readily available in a database with their lat/lng co-ordinates.
As we wish to setup tourist information in multiple cities then manually inserting all this information into a database will be a time- consuming process. So my query (to clarify) was: 1) Does Googlemaps api supply any way of automatically displaying tourist points of interest 2) Are there any 3rd party companies that would supply this data for tourist locations around various cities (that could be imported into a database) - obviously at a price! I would very much appreciate any advice on this.
