Google has done their job with flash 10.1 on Android but because the
iPhone is a supported V3 platform, and flash will never be available
on iPhone, then flash features can't be part of V3.

The capabilities of HTML5 are making flash redudant, and with future
browser support, this will deprecate the Google Maps Flash API.
Microsoft has committed to Bing Maps with their proprietary
Silverlight, but in the medium term HTML5 is the only way to go.
