answered one of my questions re the slider and circle.
I inserted the following lines into the functions.php:
navigationControl: true,
navigationControlOptions: {style:
google.maps.NavigationControlStyle.ZOOM_PAN},
this was a useful page:

Ok markers next. If anyone can help please do, I'm going to take a
