Marker scaling is implemented using CSS transforms, which exist in all supported browsers except IE. It is not specific to eg. Windows or iPad.
We'll restrict the maximum and minimum scaling. Meanwhile please specify an API version, such as v=3.1, to avoid surprise changes.
