Something else I found that helps when I have trouble loading a rather large
kml file is to first try compressing it to a kmz file and then if that still
has issues splitting it up into multiple kml/kmz files.  Compressing the
file will drastically improve load time as the total file size needed for
Google's servers to process will be MUCH smaller.
