I think you should reconsider your wants ; I'd phrase it as wanting to
exclude a path where any elevation > Xm.  You really don't care what
the highest point is, at all.

There is, but you have to write it.   For each path you are thinking
about drawing, get the elevations from the elevation service.  Check
through those elevations for > X ; if found, discard on move on to
next path.  If not found, draw path, and move on to next path.  Note
that there are limits on how fast and how many requests you can make.

Looking for non-zero elevations will work in many cases, but its not
infallible.
