It will work for another three years or so. The replacement product http://www.google.co.uk/cse/ which doesn't seem to substitute easily for Local Search. No-one seems to have come up with useful examples of using it with maps, or any integrated facility like the 'googlebar' ... yet. http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/customsearch/thread?tid=25438bdc85e7affc&hl=en The v2 maps API itself is also deprecated (but should work for years yet). The replacement v3 maps API does not have any search features like the googlebar either ... yet.
