Hi everybody!
First of all I'm sorry for my English! :)

I'm new with Google API and I'd like to know if it is suitable for my
issue before starting to study it in deep.

The first thing to consider is the following.

I'd like to realize a virtual museum using google street view. The idea
is to take a picture of all the works (paintings or sculptures) and
build a dynamic virtual route (that can be thematic for example) to
propose to my visitors on the web. Suppose that the museum
administrator decides to organize a temporary virtual exhibition
organizing its works by author. After a couple of week (or seconds if
he hasn't nothing better to do :)) he wants to reorganize museum works
in a different way, predisposing a different route and different rooms
using a sort of control panel that permits him to manage the virtual
museum.

If I have well understood, Google street view works using panoramic
360° images, so the problem is "only" to paste a painting next to the
other dynamically to create a great circle, obviously using compatible
pictures and mapping it in a background map.

The second point to analyse is the following.

I'd like to show to the users a map of the floor that they're visiting,
marking the point where they're staying. Nothing different from a
normal running of Google Street View that shows a little box in which
Pegman stays over the map of the region we are visiting and turns on
himself whenever we change our orientation in Street View box. To
realize this goal I need to create a sort of personalized georeference,
relative to my floor map... I've just seen that Google provide the
Geocoder object, I can use it for my purpose? There is something that I
can use to create this custom map of my virtual museum?

The third point is the 3D issue.

It would be great to add 3D effect to the museum. I know that Google
improved Street View using anaglyph. I can use this technology? There
is any component that allows me to turn into 3D viewing? And if I would
like to use full 3D technology (there are many cameras that allows to
take panoramic pictures in 3D)? It's a realizable idea with Google
tools?

These are the main aspects to value. I can start to design my project
with Google Street View or it's better to find another system?

Thank You for your time, patience and experience. I'm waiting for your
answers! :)
