I completely agree with you.

If it can't be turned off it's simply annoying.

Seems the v3 guys also forgot that a v2 marker had a dragCrossMove
property. Enabling this property made it possible to drag the marker
exactly at the icon and not at an invisible gap underneath.

Sigh...
