Hi all, I hope you can excuse my lack of knowledge about googlemaps api. I guess many are pretty experienced with the api and could roll your eyes at my questions.
Here goes... I would like to develop an application that heavily relies on google maps where users can add start and end points of a journey which would then be stored in a database and appear as markers. http://www.listiaclone.com/mountainrider/googlemap/source-distance-finder-google-maps.php The url above is a great example of how a user would enter details, where a user can initially begin to enter the start and end locations and the api then helps with geo autocomplete. On the example, the top fields are where the user enters the initial details and the bottom fields are to show as much detail about the location as given by the api... Street, town/city, country, Zip/post code. On submitting, this data would be stored in a DB which could then be searched for by using dropdowns which are populated by the broken down location details. Phew... and this is only the start of my journey using the Gmaps api. I have been doing google searches to learn about how I can use the api, but feel that I need a little help from seasoned experts. If this is something that sounds like a piece of cake, I would really appreciate any words of wisdom or links to any tutorials that could help me progress.
