Yes, I can see it is coming. You can test it by

   map.set('rotatable', true);

That doesn't work with the latest version but try it with v=3.1

It is most convenient to make a test button for the feature:

  <button onclick="map.set('rotatable', true);"> Rotatable </button>

On satellite mode it shows only the rare areas where rotatable imagery
is available. A compass ring appears around the navigation buttons.
You need the button because 'rotatable' must be set again after map
type change or if you navigate on an area where the imagery is not
available.
