with several thousand light weight clickable markers.
I believe the API will offer a similar facility in the future. Unless
the use of individual "function closures" for every event listener for
every marker is discarded, it will not be practical. Unfortunately,
Internet Explorer users will have to wait. IE9 supports CANVAS. IE8
uses VML.
