The file:

http://maps.gstatic.com/cat_js/intl/en_us/mapfiles/api-3/4/6a/{markers}.js

is no longer loaded in applications with no API markers.

The files:

http://maps.gstatic.com/cat_js/intl/en_us/mapfiles/api-3/4/6a/{common,map,overlay}.js
http://maps.gstatic.com/cat_js/intl/en_us/mapfiles/api-3/4/6a/{util,onion}.js
http://maps.gstatic.com/cat_js/intl/en_us/mapfiles/api-3/4/6a/{controls,stats}.js

are still combined arbitrarily. It reduces the number of successful
cache hits. It fills the browser cache with different permutations of
the same files.

Large maps no longer require "useStaticMapImpl:false" to reject the
static map. With a well stocked cache of map tiles, it is a waste of
bandwidth.
