Sorry my question may not be directly related to Google Maps JS API. I work for a local government and we plan to start a GIS project. I'm checking the possibility to implement it with Google Map. Now I have two questions: 1. how to create our own base map (or how to customize the default Google basemap)? for example, display street name out of street lines so name still visible after the street is colored (polyline overlay). 2. address locator using our own data. Google doesn't have the new built streets data.
When I readthe Google Maps API Premier term, it's said that Google does not offer a Maps API server. Does it mean that Google doesn't provide Maps Server at this time (like Esri Server)?
