I have built a Google Maps utility for golf courses to manage their hole/flag locations. I have extended it to provide easy FaceBook login(soon Twitter, Google and others) letting users post their Geo Position and then putting their face on the map for their FaceBook friends to track. Non-facebook users are not trackable, yet. It refreshes 1 per minute.
The course Tour and pin locations are also available through the Earth plug-in. But the markers for users(including non-facebook users) on the various courses are only dots currently. You don't need to be physically on a course to use it. And while it does have HTML5 GPS calls it does not require these either. This way golfers, spectators and event organizers at a golf tournament can also use the utility and families and friends can track each other. Usage and feedback are what I'm looking for. Where it breaks, how it might work better, was it useful. Would you recommend it to friends or golf courses. The web address for the Map is http://www.usgolfers.com/mobile Earth Tour is at http://www.usgolfers.com/GolfTours I have a lot more to do on the site but I'd love to get some feed back either here or through FaceBook.
