Hi,

This topic has been touched on by others, but I have not yet found a
solution to what I would like to accomplish. I have designed a couple API
maps, mostly displaying kml layers created in ArcGIS, but I am still pretty
novice here. Basically, I want to have a table, which contains lat/long
locations of a number of sample points and I want to display those markers
on Google Maps API. Additionally, I would like to be able to style the
markers having the marker size be representative of the "quantity" of the
sample. So far I have tried..... creating kml layers in ArcGIS symbolized
the way I would like, but the symbol images didn't transfer well and it
looks a bit sloppy. I have tried fusion tables, which works great to import
points, but have very limited options for maker styling, and the only option
is to change the symbol/color, not size. I have also tried the Google Docs
spreadsheet method... again another easy way to import the points, but the
styling is more tedious changing each symbol by hand and then exporting to
kml to then open in the Google Maps API. I have also read some people using
mySQL databases. I have gotten as far as putting my data into a table in a
mySQL database on my server, but then the rest all went over my head. I
feel like there should be some easier method to accomplish this... am I
missing something here? If anyone has any suggestions, documentation,
examples, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
