I was looking at the sample code for the new places library in V3. I didn't see any place to add your API key to a request. It is documented in the Places API document but not in the Places V3 map library. The reason I ask is that the daily quota is increased dramatically when you have billing enabled in the Google APIs console. The sample contained in the blog post http://googlegeodevelopers.blogspot.com/2011/05/places-everybody-show-is-about-to-begin.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+GoogleGeoDevelopersBlog+%28Google+Geo+Developers+Blog%29 does not use a API key.
