I found http://code.google.com/apis/maps/articles/phpsqlajax_v3.html and it works fine but it only loads the data once.
Ajax is great for refreshing the data without having to reload the page, yet this demo does not show how that would be done. I tried putting an Event Listener to load the data more dynamically but I am getting some errors so I would love to start from a working tutorial that shows how to do this.
