Hoping someone can help me begin to figure out a novel problem.
I have about 10 dynamic integer variables representing number of people
walking in a certain direction on a small section of a pathway. Each
variable represents a different physical location (i.e. variable1 = "5
people walking north at location x", variable2 = "2 ppl walking south at
location y").

I need to visualize this data on a map. I'm imagining a vector field
comprised of 10 vectors. The vector positions are static. However, one of
their characteristics changes in real time as the number of ppl walking
changes (i.e. their size, color, or marker label).

How can one begin to go about visualizing such data on google maps api?

I'm also a fan of the color/pattern coded lines that google maps uses to
represent vehicular traffic on freeways and streets.

Any visualization, preferably quick and dirty, would be acceptable.
