Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask for this, but we'd really like to be able to add the functionality for a route calculated by Google on our maps to avoid designated areas (that we would define, e.g. using polygons in a Fusion Table layer). It would be almost the 'reverse' of the current ability to favour highways or waypoints when calculating routes.
The application is that, here in South Africa, there are certain high-crime areas / hi-jacking hotspots that we'd like to be able to help our map users avoid using a 'safemode' type option. At the moment we can only highlight such areas on the map, but this doesn't stop a route being calculated through it. I'd imagine there are many applications internationally (e.g. high pollution areas, potholed roads, inner-cities etc.).
