I've got a website I'm trying to put together that will allow users to view a map of local road construction sites and maybe allow them to plot a detour around them. All I really want to do is to be able to insert or remove markers and or a highlighted area on the map, when people mouse over them (or maybe even zoom in enough) it would show a text box (that I would be able to edit) explaining the type and dates of construction. All I really need is just the normal map view centered on the Portland Oregon area. It would also be great if people visiting the site could use the routing features of google maps, but that isn't all that important for me right now as I'm just starting out. I'm not a programmer and I don't understand scripting. The site I'm currently using was donated to me by a friend so I'm trying to get this all going with little to no cost right now. Any help would be appreciated.
