Thanks, Chris. Interesting. I hadn't thought about a copyright issue, since the API is free to use. Anyway, I have no problem with making a custom marker. What I need is the same functionality, i.e. the marker must move around with you as you walk, in real time. If that is not proprietary to Google Maps, can you point me to the code?
