The entire purpose of this thread is to know if there are any standard icons at Google whose location I can rely upon. The site I linked to ( http://mabp.kiev.ua/2010/01/12/google-map-markers/) found some under the /mapfiles directory at maps.google.com. I am just wondering if there are any "official" locations for these files that we can rely on and Google may not move. My guess is they won't move the mapfiles files, but they could.
I am using some of the files at maps.google.com/mapfiles and they've been reliable for a while, but I am just curious if Google would post about any official places they will keep files.
