Only in Safari on a Mac there is an invisible layer of div elements which is inserted over the top of markers which are added to the overlayImage pane which is preventing elements on this pane from receiving click events. This has been reported as a bug ( http://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-issues/issues/detail?id=3219)
I just find it odd that that it would only be affecting one browser on one platform. Is Google Maps adding this layer to help handle for touch events? What is the purpose of this layer? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps JavaScript API v3" group.
