I see this same issue in Chrome 15.0.874.106 m on Windows 7. Two more demonstrations of the error:
1. On the Google API docs "Basics" page, there are two sample maps under geolocation. Both display with grey boxes at different places when the page is scrolled. http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/basics.html 2. On a devel page of mine, with a vector outline overlay, requires no user input: http://dev.archives.upenn.edu/WestPhila1777/view-parcel.php?pid=615 These work correctly in Firefox and IE9 on Windows 7, as well as Chrome (same version) on Windows XP.
