Hi, I'm having a hard hard time sorting out a 'Too many Marker' problem. I need to support both panning and zooming.
Thus, I need both Viewporting and Clustering, imho. I've tried MarkerClusterer but that won't fully work (it seems) since it requires adding every individual marker. Yes, it aggregates single entities but it doesn't accept aggregates. And with clustering, markers seem to hop around when zooming in and out, off by the viewport in some cases. One problem, many of the suggested solutions only show the client side portion of the full solution. That makes Viewporting difficult. FusionTable looks awesome. The cycle trail map is impressive, since it covers all of USA. Is that dataset huge though? What the heck does Google Maps use? A pointer to a complete solution (client side javascript and server side php/mysql/?? ) would be awesome.
