API key is instantaneous, and in any case Version 3 will work without
a key at the moment.

If you want help, post a demonstrator: doesn't need any proprietary
information -- just a minimal demonstration on a free host will do.

One issue is that the content of the infoWindow is only created
(inserted into the DOM) once the infoWindow is shown. Code inside an
infoWindow does not work the same way as code outside it.
