I have long since procrastinated my migration to V3, as it's a radical
change in functional behavior of objects, ie map.addOverlay(marker) vs
marker.setMap(map). And in contemplating the ambiguous impending doom of
the version that makes sense to me, I'm wondering when the next release of
the maps API can be expected. Because at this point V3 has matured for a
few years now and if I'm going to commit the effort to refactor, at this
point, I'd rather go for the latest and greatest instead of upgrade to the
freshly deprecated.
