I have followed the link in your post at when I click the KML link on
your page, Chrome asks me what I want to do with the KML file.
For me, that includes the option of opening the file using the Google
Earth plugin or saving the file. And the options will differ for many
users, depending upon how their browser is setup and configured.
At the basic level, browser settings differences could explain the
different handling that you are seeing.

If you could provide a little more detail about exactly what is
happening and how you want the KML link to function, it will be easier
to give you a more focused and specific response.
