Seem to work OK for me:

http://www.geocodezip.com/geoxml3_test/v3_geoxml3_kmltest_linktoB.html?filename=http://www.geocodezip.com/geoxml3_test/NBATC_InvasivePlants_kml.xml

(click on "hide", then "load kmllayer" to see what KmlLayer displays,
the default rendering uses geoxml3)
