The API geocoders for v2 and v3 may well be different, as indeed the webservice geocoder may be different to both of those. The coverage spreadsheet at http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/mapcoverage_filtered.html has Greece down as "Geocoding: Yes (same as tiles)" which means that it will only find streets which are named on the tiles and may not be able to find postal codes. Lochagou Gkanogianni 59, Zografos, Greece is located in the same place in Version 2 and Version 3. It's very near a street called Lochagou Gkanogianni but the point is not located in the right place (it seems); it looks like 59 is where the bus stop is, about 350m east of the found location.
