I am anxiously waiting for some results! I, too, am working on a similar project at http://www.repeaterbook.com/repeaters/travel2.php where I am trying to locate the Ham Radio repeaters along a route. I have the lat/long of the repeaters in my database.
I am at the stop 1 where I can draw the boxes, but do not yet have the lat/longs to query against.
